Criminal profiling seeks to understand the workings of the criminal mind and its motivations. As our knowledge of the psychological workings of the human mind has increased, so has our ability to put our learning into practice when investigating crimes.
Where criminal investigations once relied heavily on the existence of physical clues left at the scene of the crime, the psychological clues now play a major part in solving crimes.
You will learn the main theories behind this investigative discipline and how to apply them in real-life situations, using several case studies of well-known criminal cases. You will analyse criminal behaviour and discover what caused the perpetrator to commit these heinous crimes.
Whilst we may be familiar with this subject area from watching movies and films, the course explains how the approaches used are now staple techniques in police departments around the world, and students of this field of study use them daily in a number of job roles.
By choosing this programme of study you can be assured that you will have the opportunity to study at you own pace and from the comfort of your own home.
